His early education and living were limited by the money situation but cricket was his continual source of joy and passion.

Siraj began bowling seriously when he was 16 years old, playing local matches with a tennis ball. At 19, he was playing competitive club cricket in Hyderabad, and in his very first match, he took nine wickets for his uncle’s team in the Hyderabad Cricket Association. That single performance announced the arrival of a bowler with serious potential.

The most tragic and memorable event in Siraj’s life was in November 2020 when his father suddenly died of a heart attack while Siraj was touring Australia with the Indian cricket team. In a very touching moment of Indian sports history, Siraj made the difficult decision to stay and do his duty for the country instead of coming back home. He went on to bowl extremely well and in his best performance in the series at the Gabba, he dedicated his great bowling to his late father.

As per recent information till 2026, Siraj is unmarried. He is known to keep his personal life very secret and is seldom seen talking publicly about relationships.

Though, it was the 201617 Ranji Trophy season that really put Siraj on the map domestically when he took as many as 41 wickets in only nine games, making him the highest wicket taker of the tournament for Hyderabad by a large margin with a very low average of just 18. 92. Because of this outstanding display, national selectors were finally compelled to pay attention to him seriously.

February 2018 saw him at the pinnacle of wicket taking in the Vijay Hazare Trophy too with 23 wickets in seven games, while he also got India A representation during their tour of South Africa in 2017.
